Thank you for considering Wilk & Wilk Orthodontics for your orthodontic treatment. We believe that orthodontic treatment can be for everyone. It is an excellent, affordable investment for children, adolescents, and adults alike, and our office is dedicated to making orthodontic treatment available to all those interested and in need of treatment. We never want finances to be an obstacle to obtaining the beautiful healthy smile you deserve.
During your initial examination, if Dr. Wilk determines that a patient requires orthodontic treatment and is ready to begin treatment, a treatment plan, a treatment fee, and payment options will be presented. Our goal will be to provide you with exceptional, affordable treatment that fits your budget.
Here are some answers to these commonly asked questions:
HOW MUCH WILL TREATMENT COST?
Our fee for your orthodontic treatment will depend on the severity of the problem and the anticipated length of time to correct it. If several treatment options are available, a range of fees may be presented and less expensive treatment options may be available depending on your goals and priorities..
WHAT DOES MY INVESTMENT INCLUDE?
Our fee includes every aspect of orthodontic treatment provided in our office including the diagnostic records, orthodontic x-rays, 3D digital scans, all appliances, braces, lab costs, regular and emergency office visits, the initial set of retainers, and monitoring following active treatment. This fee does not include any treatment rendered in any other dental office (dental x-rays, CBCT scans, dental cleanings, dental check-ups, pulling of teeth, replacement of missing teeth, cosmetic bonding, grafting of the gums, specific orthodontic mini-implants, and any surgery). Replacement fees may apply for lost or broken appliances.
DO YOU OFFER A PAYMENT PLAN?
Yes! We offer several interest-free financial payment plans to fit your budget and have a Financial Coordinator who will be happy to discuss them with you. In general, fees are typically broken down into a flexible initial payment (ranging up to 25% of the total fee) to be paid when treatment begins, with the remaining balance divided into equal monthly payments, without interest. We will do everything possible to soften any financial obstacles and to schedule your payments to best suit your budget.
IS THERE INTEREST APPLIED TO PAYMENT PLANS?
No! Payment plans have 0% interest.
WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?
For your convenience, we accept Direct Debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, certified cheques and E-transfer as payment options.
HOW WILL YOU HELP ME DETERMINE MY INSURANCE BENEFITS?
When orthodontic insurance coverage is available, we will complete and provide you with a Standard Orthodontic Predetermination Form. This form provides the insurance company with a diagnosis of the problem, approximate duration and nature of the treatment, and an estimated fee for complete orthodontic treatment. This form should be forwarded to your insurance company as soon as possible so that it can respond to you with an explanation of benefits. This is important given the increasing numbers of dental insurance and prepayment programs available.
WHAT WILL MY INSURANCE COVER?
Typically, insurance companies do not cover 100% of orthodontic fees. Instead, they will pay at a pre-determined percentage (usually up to 50%) to a given maximum. Orthodontic benefits, unlike other dental benefits, are usually disbursed over the duration of treatment and not in a lump sum payment. Working closely with your insurance carrier/carriers should ensure that you receive the maximum benefits you are entitled to. Patients who carry any form of orthodontic insurance should know that all Orthodontic Services performed in our office are charged directly to the patient and/or person(s) responsible for payment. We do not bill, nor receive payments from the insurance company directly. During treatment, payment receipts will be provided so that you will be reimbursed by your insurance provider.
IS ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Any portion of orthodontic treatment not covered by insurance may be claimed as a tax deduction under the health expenses portion of your Income Tax Form. You may claim any consecutive 12 month period. Our office will be happy to provide you with tax receipts.
